data (#23) - Planarize function? (#284) - Message List

Hi all,

ArcGIS has a function that automatically splits intersecting lines called Planarize. This can be a useful function when your data is not a perfect topology as step before assign_vertex_id. You can execute it on a limited basis for classes of roads that typically intersect at grade level (excluding highways and other limited access roads, for example).

Is something like planarize available in PostGIS, but under a different name?
