developer (#13) - Implementation of Location Service Implementation of Location Service (OpenLS) - Core Services specification (#57) - Message List
Piergiorgio Cipriano from CORE Soluzioni Informatiche srl asked us for implementing OpenLS, which is a very good idea in my opinion.
Is there anyone, who already worked on that topic and/or wants to share his/her ideas with us?

May I ask you if you are planning to implement Location Service (OpenLS) - Core Services specification? (see OGC - http://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/olscore). Actually, we have been working on a OpenLS solution for OpenLayers? since last year, it would be very helpful for us to collaborate with you on this topic. Do you think it would be possible? How? Thank you very much Best regards Piergiorgio

The scope of openLS is very large. The goal of openLS is to define the access of the LBS service using unified way.
It appears that the Part 5 of the core service, Routing Service is relevant to the pgRouting project.
When designing the pgRouting core functions, conforming to openLS ADTs is to be considered. the XLS/XML based the pgRouting service access should also be written.

We made a simple implementation of OpenLS support in what we call WRS (Web Routing Service). The source code is available but is a bit hidden and lacks documentation. Sorry for that.
